Conceptualisation
The process begins with inspiration — a sketch created by George, defining form, design, artistic direction, and scale.
The European–African team then refines the concept, selecting the ideal shape to be released from solid African wood.
تبدأ العملية بالإلهام — رسم أولي يضعه جورج يحدّد الشكل والتصميم والاتجاه الفني والحجم.
بعدها يقوم الفريق الأوروبي–الإفريقي بصقل الفكرة واختيار الشكل الأمثل المنحوت من الخشب الصلب الإفريقي.
Tribal & Environmental Endorsements
Before carving begins, the concept must be approved by African Natural Resources and by the tribal community involved.
These endorsements ensure ethical sourcing and respect for ancestral traditions.
قبل بدء النحت، يجب الحصول على موافقة الجهات البيئية الإفريقية وكذلك موافقة القبيلة ذات الصلة.
هذه الخطوة تحافظ على الاستدامة وتحترم التقاليد الموروثة.
The First Disengagement (Forest Stage)
Craftsmen begin carving directly in the forest, reducing the massive raw log — often several hundred kilograms — into a transportable structure.
This stage takes around two weeks and marks the birth of the artwork.
يبدأ الحرفيون النحت مباشرة في الغابة، لتقليل جذع الخشب الضخم — الذي قد يزن مئات الكيلوغرامات — إلى بنية أولية قابلة للنقل.
تستغرق هذه المرحلة حوالي أسبوعين وتمثّل ولادة العمل الفني.
Refining the Concept
Once the core form exists, the team revisits the design.
African artistic style merges with European (often British) luxury design principles, defining the final identity of the piece.

Rough Sculpture (6–12 Months)
This is the longest and most creative stage.
The block of wood is shaped into its preliminary sculptural form, a process that can take 6 to 12 months, depending on size, complexity, and weather conditions.

Fundi Knife Work
A master craftsman uses the traditional fundi knife to remove material behind the carver, a meticulous step lasting about a week.
يستخدم الحرفي الماهر أداة الفندي نايف التقليدية لإزالة الطبقات الخلفية بدقة، وهي مرحلة تستغرق حوالي أسبوع.
Fundi Polish
Two more weeks are dedicated to polishing by a specialist with deep expertise.
This stage enhances texture, reveals patterns, and prepares the wood for finishing.

تُبرز هذه المرحلة تفاصيل الخشب وتعدّه للخطوات النهائية.
European Acclimatisation
The piece arrives in Europe, where it rests for several weeks to stabilise moisture content.
This prevents cracks and ensures longevity — essential for luxury interior design clients in Dubai and the GCC.
تصل القطعة إلى أوروبا وتُترك لعدة أسابيع لتتكيّف مع المناخ وتستقر نسبة الرطوبة داخل الخشب.
هذه الخطوة تمنع التشققات وتضمن بقاء القطعة على المدى الطويل — وهو أمر أساسي لعملاء التصميم الداخلي الفاخر في دبي والخليج.
Varnishing & Final Details
The final steps include varnishing, upholstery (if necessary), and the addition of functional or decorative elements.
Only then does the sketch become a one-of-a-kind luxury artwork, ready for collectors in the GCC.
